Purpose: The bill would remove the requirement that exactly $4.7 million be transferred from the Tourism Promotion Fund each year to the Courtesy Patrol Fund. Instead, the bill would allow up to $4.7 million to be transferred “in accordance with appropriations from the Excess Lottery Revenue Fund and based on an expenditure schedule set by the state Budget Office.”


          The bill would also transfer from the Director of the Division of Natural Resources to the Secretary of Commerce the discretion to approve the expenditure of “no less than” 20% of the 5% of the balance of moneys remaining in the Tourism Promotion Fund, after the Courtesy Patrol Fund transfers described above, “to effectively promote and market the state's parks, state forests, state recreation areas and wildlife recreational resources.”
